Mission

Firmly committed to what can be, EFM Systems helps individuals and organizations to fundamentally optimize performance and satisfaction by developing and delivering the best enterprise feedback management solutions, by any measure.

Objectives

  1. Optimize feedback effectiveness.
  2. Help customers and workforce to make the right decisions.
  3. Optimize performance in work and life.

History

EFM Systems grew from our extensive experience helping hundreds of thousands of individuals and thousands of organizations around the world to measurably improve their performance. In 1989 we started teaching quality management to global executives and in 1998 we established a consultancy which applied engineering principles to human resource management. That same year we also launched Staffing.org and later, HRMetrics.org, both of which had become leading authorities on human resource performance.

We have a twelve year legacy of absolutely confidential and secure data collection. More than 1,000,000 people have participated in our surveys and every single participant’s identity and responses have been and always will be, completely cloaked and protected. We have also completed over 300 engagements, trained almost 10,000 professionals, and sold over 47,000 reports and toolkits. Our average customer satisfaction rating is 4.06 on a 0 – 5 scale.

After extensive experience with employee opinion surveys we began collecting and analyzing feedback from candidates and external workforces in 1999. Within a few years our work had saved organizations tens of millions of dollars, driven even greater increases in sales and significantly improved workforce engagement and satisfaction. In 2010 our workforce feedback experience, systems and processes were incorporated into OnEmployers.

Prompted by C level executives, we began working with organization buyers of products and services in 2003. We surveyed executive buyers - not consultants, employees or influencers - but directors and vice presidents with significant approval and signing authority. Over 1,100 responded, representing highly successful and established enterprises including Apple, Dell, Fidelity, General Electric, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Lockheed Martin, Merck, Pfizer, several U.S. government organizations and over ninety hospitals. We then established a network of B2B buyers and consumers to provide ongoing input and feedback as we developed and tested our customer feedback systems and processes. By the time the OnProviders beta site was launched we had input from over 37,000 organization buyers and 118,000 individual consumers.

Founder and President Nick Burkholder co-authored The Executive Career Guide with Richard H. Beatty and with Preston Edwards, Sr. and Libby Sartain edited the book on the most fundamental and critical driver of organization performance: On Staffing: Advice and Perspectives from HR Leaders. Nick also wrote Outsourcing: Perspectives, Applications & Implications, which organization leaders have rated “the single best take on outsourcing.” He wrote Ultimate Performance: Measuring Human Resources at Work, with Scott Golas and Jeremy Shapiro. All were published by John Wiley and Sons.

EFM Systems is committed to delivering the greatest value to all of our constituencies by practicing what we teach, including:
  • Helping our customers and workforce to make the right decisions – for them.
  • Embracing feedback from all our constituencies.
